Babies Affected by Drugs by Health Boards
Data on babies affected by maternal use of drugs are sourced from Scottish Birth Record (SBR). These data relate to the total number of individual babies, not discharges. Data is presented by health board of residence.
Babies affected by maternal use of drugs are identified using the ICD10 codes P04.4 (foetus and newborn affected by maternal use of drugs of addiction) and P96.1 (neonatal withdrawal symptoms from maternal use of drug addiction).
Please see the annual publication technical report for further information.
