ARCHIVED - Scottish Drug Misuse Database

The Scottish Drugs Misuse Database (SDMD) was closed in March 2021 due to the introduction of the Drug and Alcohol Information System (DAISy). Open data for financial years 2021/22 onward are available here

The Scottish Drug Misuse Database (SDMD) report provide an annual update to figures on the number of individuals presenting for assessment at specialist drug treatment services. All publications and supporting material to this topic area can be found on PHS - Substance use.

Accuracy Quality checks are conducted by PHS. Figures are compared to previously published data and expected trends.
Continuity of data 2012/13 SDMD figures for Scotland, NHS Tayside (and all ADPs within) and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (including Glasgow City ADP) are only provided for demographic tables due to data quality issues. 2013/14 SDMD figures for Scotland, NHS Tayside (and all ADPs within) and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (including Glasgow City ADP) are not provided due to data quality issues.
